The Madison County Chapter of The Charmettes, Inc. Scholarship Criteria

 

Purpose/History: The Charmettes, Incorporated is an organization of professional women dedicated to community service and sponsoring programs for the betterment of communities. In addition to providing educational scholarships, the organization is actively involved in other community projects benefitting cancer awareness and research.

Locally, The Madison County Chapter is engaged in programs and activities that aid individuals and families in need in areas including health and community development. Amount of Award: $500 The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior from Madison County High School or a non-traditional student. Each student must provide the scholarship Committee with the following before they can be considered.

 

1. Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements and the deadline for application to qualify.

2. Complete the Charmettes Scholarship Application

3. Two letters of recommendation that support the candidate who is applying for the scholarship

4. Minimum grade point average of 2.0 (must provide an official academic transcript)

5. Write a 250-word essay describing why the scholarship will help to further their education

6. Must demonstrate financial need

7. The Charmettes Scholarship Committee will make the final scholarship recipient decision

8. This is a one-time scholarship that is awarded in the fall semester. The high school senior recipient must be enrolled in fall classes and use the scholarship for that term. The recipient must provide a copy of the acceptance letter and class schedule

9. The funds may be used for tuition, books, fees, or other educational expenses.

10. Students must be a full-time student upon enrollment

11. The application deadline is April 15
